CMA Scholarship Fund
The Cabinet Makers Association Scholarship Fund (CMASF) is designed to support individuals aspiring to build a career in the woodworking industry. This initiative provides an opportunity for individuals from communities across the country to gain access to valuable financial support as they pursue woodworking-related education or training.
CMASF Qualifications
Eligibility Requirements
- Nomination by a CMA Member: To be eligible, individuals must be nominated by a current CMA member. The nominee must be a graduating senior in high school.
- One Nomination Per CMA Member: Each CMA member may nominate one individual.
Timeline
-
Nomination Deadline: Nominations must be submitted by March 1. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
-
Selection of Recipients: Scholarship recipients will be selected by March 15. The number of scholarships awarded will be based on the funds received at that time.
Selection Process
- Random Draw: Scholarship recipients will be selected through a random draw.
- This approach ensures a fair and transparent process, as CMA members nominating individuals are responsible for vetting the applicants.
Member Involvement
- Public Presentation of Scholarships: CMA members who nominate recipients are expected to present the scholarship in a public setting, such as a graduation ceremony or classroom event. This public presentation promotes awareness of CMA's support for woodworking education and builds community recognition.
The CMASF is a vital initiative that strengthens the woodworking industry by investing in its future workforce. By encouraging community participation and simplifying the nomination process, we aim to make this opportunity accessible to aspiring woodworkers nationwide.
