Based in Berryville, VA, Castleman Carpentry is a family-owned custom wood working cabinet shop and class A general carpenter. They specialize in total transformations in any room of a client's house through thoughtful and careful design. All aspects of our projects are managed directly by the owners. From initial consultation, through design and material selection, cabinet fabrications and project execution; they are directly involved with their client's ensuring the best remodeling experience for their customers. At their wood working shop, they create truly “Custom” cabinetry. They take wood, sourced both locally and globally, and  turn it into beautiful cabinet & millwork projects. They fabricate all of our cabinet boxes, face frames, doors, drawer boxes and fronts, moldings and trim.
 
Describe your project, what makes it unusual, and/or any outstanding characteristics.
This house is located on a beautiful horse farm. Unfortunately, the original kitchen was a postage stamp located at the interior of the residence, with no windows to view this magnificent property. Working with the homeowners desires, existing spaces and an inspirational magazine picture we were able to design a stunning new kitchen that ensures a fabulous view overlooking our homeowner's grazing field. The cabinetry was 100% custom fabricated in our shop in Berryville, VA. The traditional elegance of an inset beaded recessed panel door style was embellished with heavy duty antique brass wire mesh at glass front units. We combined the homeowner's favorite shade of green (custom mixed) with natural black walnut locally sourced for added warmth. We paid particular attention to all details. Even details as small as outlets were very carefully contemplated. Our skilled carpenter fabricated and trimmed out pantry cabinetry that gracefully climbs the steps. All of our cabinet boxes are 3/4" Maple plywood (finished) or 3/4" Walnut where exposed. All moldings, trim, window casing and barn door were fabricated in our shop. The homeowner was thrilled with her new show stopping, bright and unique custom kitchen!
