Describe your project, what makes it unusual, and/or any outstanding characteristics.
This primary closet was part of a whole house remodel, with the goal of replacing the “Tuscan” look of the previous interior with a more Transitional/Modern feel. Both homeowners are tall, the husband a 6’-5” NFL lineman, and his wife 5’-11”. We threw out our closet “standards” to custom design one tailored for their height. The husband brought in some of his size 17 shoes, and hanging clothes, so we could ensure we accommodated their dimensions. He also had a sizable collection of watches, and we designed a space that allowed for them to be hidden yet accessible. She wanted a “wow factor” in the closet and decided to do a black painted finish with highlights of brass hardware (including a rolling ladder). The closet is open to the primary bathroom through a custom arched opening. Through that opening is a focal point of a chandelier above a window, with built-in displays for purses.
