2024 Wood Diamond Award winners

On Wednesday, August 7, during the IWF Atlanta trade show, the Cabinet Makers Association (CMA) revealed the winners of their 14th annual Wood Diamonds Awards contest.

Felipe Torres Espino of Torres Espino The Craftsman, located in Weslaco, Texas, received the prestigious Best of, Best Overall award. Felipe described his winning project, a two-story library, as “a haven of warmth and elegance, thanks to its rich alder wood paneling stained in soothing, deep tones. The space feels traditional and refined, with beautiful moldings and trim that show off the craftsmanship in every corner. Soft-close drawers and doors add a modern touch of convenience, while the extensive shelving offers a generous amount of space for books and cherished mementos. Black metal railings on the upper floor blend subtly with the traditional decor, complementing without overpowering the room's historic feel. This library isn't just a study space—it's a warm, inviting sanctuary perfect for quiet reflection and enjoyment of the written word.”
