As part of a 2-story condominium renovation, this home office provided space for both of the homeowners. Built in cabinetry made was from Rift White oak in a natural finish, with a center desk down the middle of the room for both homeowners. Each end of the room had built-in filing units with custom bookcase units with a “fin” of metal sandwiched between layers of solid oak. The lighting detail on the bookcases was particularly challenging, as it needed to be hidden at the rear of each shelf or end panel. But there was not back, so we had to engineer a way to not only mount the unit to the wall, but also keep the lighting detail. Across from the desk and bookcase units was a 75 foot hallway from the entry past the home office into a bedroom. The hallway was completely clad in custom matched rift white oak paneling and housed closets, storage, and a small bar.
